About John van de Veerdonk
John van de Veerdonk was born into the real estate business. His father, Thomas van de Veerdonk, owner and CEO of Dutchman Contracting is renowned for being one of New York’s premiere high-end contractors. While working for his father John grew got a first-hand education from the more than 100 employees at Dutchman Contracting in the contracting and renovation business and how it relates to the real estate market in Manhattan. And this is the value that John brings to the residential real estate industry. He understands cost, value-added improvements when beneficial, and how to get numbers to work in a client’s favor, which translates into higher profits for sellers and cost analysis expertise for buyers.
Another of John’s attributes benefiting clients is his highly competitive nature and a ferocious appetite for winning. A Division One lacrosse player at Georgetown University, John excelled on the field and in the classroom where he majored in computer science. Analytical, ambitious and talented, John was a natural choice for the New Amsterdam Team at Keller Williams NYC.
“We are thrilled to have a talent like John on our team,” says New Amsterdam President Edward Kalisvaart. “John brings with him an exuberance, understand, and passion for the real estate business that few possess and we’ve only seen in those who grew up in the business. He is sure to be an enormous asset to our clients and customers.”
John has held positions in IT security at IBM and as a business analyst at UBS, both wonderful education experiences, but all roads led him back to real estate where his talents are best served.
John lives in Manhattan where in his spare time he likes to challenge himself by taking part in high-action sports. This past Summer John competed in the World Lacrosse Championship for Team Netherlands in Netanya Israel. John also enjoys, surfing, snowboarding and snowmobiling.
